Our favorite Island park is home to the Belle Isle Aquarium, Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, Dossin Great Lakes Museum, Belle Isle Nature Center, the James Scott Memorial Fountain, the Belle Isle Golfing Center, amazing walking trails, a beachfront, and more!

Parking is available on the island, but you must have a state park pass (or buy one at the entrance). Belle Isle can be accessed by foot or bike without charge from the Riverwalk, near the furthest park, Gabriel Richard Park.

We frequent the Belle Isle Golf Center to practice our golf swings at the Toptracer golf range!

Detroit RiverWalk

Detroit RiverWalk, Detroit, MI 48226, USA

Named the best Riverwalk in the Country, you can access the Riverwalk from the Ren Cen / Hart Plaza for downtown guests. The Riverwalk also has several small parks with parking lot access.

When we first moved to Detroit in 2018, we lived on the Riverwalk in Harbortown near Mt. Elliot Park.

The Robert C. Valade Park on the Riverwalk has the Atwater Beach playground, a bbq restaurant (Smoky G's Smokehouse), and Bob's Barge, a floating bar. You can also find Andrew's on the Corner and Atwater Brewery nearby.

Rent some bikes and check on the Riverwalk and Dequindre Cut (it connects to Eastern Market too).
